About the Activity

As one of the most economically active and technologically developed regions in China, the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao has an increasing need and reliance on international standards for industry clusters such as networking and communications, semiconductors and integrated circuits, smart sensors, and new energy. Through engagement in IEEE standards, the Greater Bay Area can build standards expertise amongst its innovation resources and promote the transformation and application of scientific and technological innovations to standards-based commercial products. This will help enhance the innovation capacity of the Greater Bay Area and promote industrial upgrading and economic development.

Goals of the Activity

  • Develop awareness of the application of IEEE standards.
  • Develop IEEE standardization process understanding through organizing training and exchanges, cultivating local expertise on IEEE standards development procedures and international vision, to provide strong talents for the standardization cause of the Greater Bay Area.
  • Support synergistic development of regional industries by leveraging the IEEE standard platforms, to support coordinated development among different industries within the Greater Bay Area.
